We are located in a quiet setting surrounded by a large green belt. The children are encouraged to play outside several times a day.
The preschool has two large bright rooms and access to a school gymnasium fully equipped with riding toys and sports equipment.
The preschool goes on several outings a year such as the country farm pumpkin patch, the aquarium, the Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary and the maple wood farm.
Our primary goal as educators is to offer quality care to children aged 30 months to five years old. We recognize children’s individuality and respect the differences that exist in rates of development, skill levels and interests. Our program allows flexibility in order to meet individual needs. We focus on french language acquisition and communication.
Our role is to develop autonomy, self-esteem, problem solving within a group setting. The daily program focuses on developing the physical, socio affective, cognitive and artistic abilities of our children through free play, as well as structured learning.
The preschool Les Moussaillons is located within the francophone elementary school Les Navigateurs, from the French school board (C”S”F”).
Our children are included in all major festivities and events hosted by the school. They also have access to all amenities such as the gymnasium, backyard, library and more. This provide a sense of community and inclusivity to our children as well as an easy transition to the elementary school.

At Les Moussaillons, children’s learning occurs through different themes such as animals, cultures of the world, seasons, space and sea creatures. The themes are explored through songs and rhymes, music circle time, arts and crafts, as well as “show and tell” and outings.
Keeping our children healthy and active is one of our values. Every day, weather permitting, the children spend time outside in our large playground. Outdoor activities include: nature walks, organized group games and bicycle riding. We also have access to the school gymnasium to ride bicycles or play games.
French learning is reinforced with the use of Paul et Suzanne, a program designed specifically for preschool age children to develop and facilitate French language acquisition. To help develop social abilities, such as how to function within a group, make requests, express emotions, our educators use the well recognized French program Brindami.
